How does UBC function?

Used Book Circle is a simple e-mail forwarding system. UBC forwards your request to all of the participating bookstores at once.

1.If the book you request is available you will receive a return e-mail with the price and
condition. This book will be put on temporary hold for 48 hours by each responding bookseller
pending confirmation, beyond which time the book will go back into inventory.

2.Once you have decided which of the offered books you wish to purchase and/or inspect, you
will need to notify the book seller by return e-mail or telephone so that the book can be put on
confirmed hold for transaction completion.

3.The conditions and duration that the book is kept on hold will have to be established between
yourself and the bookseller.

4.In the event that there is no match for your book you can enquire again making sure to check
the 'hold want on file' box. This will ensure your request is kept on file beyond the 48 hour period.
We suggest that you occasionally resubmit your request if you have still not found the book.
